Bad Magpie, only game from the XBOX Games Showcase 2026 confirmed for macOS

Given the company behind XBOX, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that its showcase wasn’t littered with games playable on macOS. Going into the show, I expected Microsoft’s first-party games to be exclusive to Windows, but I thought perhaps there would be a number of third-party games also available on macOS. To be clear, many of those third-party games are so early in development that an OS wasn’t specified on Steam. Of the games that did specify, only one game will be available on Apple Silicon Macs.

Bad Magpie

Magpie with an injured wing holding a burning branch in its beak.
You are a magpie with one wing, a missing flock, and an unhealthy obsession with a fallen star. Steal shiny trinkets, cause chaos, and stick your beak where it doesn’t belong.

Bad Magpie is an indie game from developer Milktooth. The art style is adorable, and I love to see indies land on macOS. I'll update you all in the future as I learn more about this game, especially if a demo drops. Be sure to wishlist it on Steam!
